National Football League (NFL) Schedule, Week-3

The National Football League (NFL) is a professional American football league.It is one of the four major professional sports leagues in North America. The NFL is the highest professional level of American football in the world. It consists 32 teams; they are equally divided between the National Football Conference (NFC) and the American Football Conference (AFC).

The NFL was formed in the year 1920. At that time, it was known as American Professional Football Association (APFA). In the year 1923 it rename itself to now existing National Football League (NFL).it merged with American Football League (AFL) in 1966.

The NFL’s regular season is seventeen weeks long. The regular season starts from a week after Labor Day and runs till a week after Christmas. In the regular season each team plays sixteen games and has a bye week.

This year NFL regular season week 3 will start on Thursday, 08 September, 2016. And the third week will start on Thursday, 22 September, 2016. In this week Sunday night football will very interesting, because it will be played between Denver Broncos and Detroit Lions.

They also have a history of rivalry with Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots. Their home ground is Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Detroit Lions:

The Detroit Lions are a professional American football team based in Detroit, Michigan. They are currentlymember of the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). They were established in the year 1930 in Portsmouth, Ohio, originally named as the Portsmouth Spartans. But in the year 1934 after it was purchased and moved to Detroit and renamed as the Detroit Lions. The lions have won 4 NFL Championships; it was before the NFL-AFL merger. They have also won 4 Conference championships and 4 Division championships. They have made 17 Playoff appearances. The Lions home ground is Ford Field in Downtown Detroit. Their oldest rivals are the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers.
